How to Start Loving Money (Even If It’s Triggered You for Years)

If the thought of “loving money” makes you cringe a little, I get it.

You were probably taught that money is stressful. Or selfish. Or something you always need more of but never quite trust.

But here’s the truth:

You can’t attract what you resent.
You won’t hold what you’re afraid of.
And you definitely won’t keep what you secretly judge.

Learning how to start loving money isn’t about greed.
It’s about healing your relationship with it so you stop pushing it away.

Let’s shift that.

Step 1: Get Real About How You Feel

First, stop pretending.

Do you feel guilt when you spend money on yourself?
Do you side-eye people with luxury lifestyles?
Do you tense up every time you log into your bank account?

That’s your nervous system telling you there’s old emotion stored around money.
Loving money starts with honesty. And honesty isn’t always cute at first.

Step 2: Remember That Money Is Just Energy

Money doesn’t have a personality. It’s not judging you. It’s not avoiding you.

It’s neutral.

It responds to the stories you attach to it.
If your story is “money equals pressure” or “money changes people,” you’ll push it away without realizing it.

Try this instead:
“Money supports me.”
“Money amplifies my impact.”
“Money allows me to give and live more fully.”

Start reframing the way you talk to and about it.

Step 3: Treat Money Like a Relationship

Think about it. Would you stay in a relationship with someone who ignored you, talked trash about you, or only wanted you when they were desperate?

Money works the same way.

Start checking in with it. Track it without fear. Speak to it with respect.
This isn’t weird. It’s alignment.

The more you respect money, the safer your body feels holding more of it.

Step 4: Surround Yourself With People Who Don’t Hate Money

This one matters.
If your environment constantly talks about how “money is the root of all evil” or makes fun of people who have it, that stuff sticks.

Find voices that normalize overflow and generosity.

You Can’t Love What You’re At War With

If you want more money to flow, you’ve got to stop treating it like the enemy.

Learning how to start loving money means softening your grip, dropping the judgment, and letting it be safe to receive.

Start treating money like something you get to enjoy, not something you’re supposed to chase or fear.
